512,780 emails were exported from a single Gmail account active since August 2004. Around 5,000 were sampled and analyzed by AI to extract about 1,460 pull quotes tagged by mood.
All names have been replaced with pseudonyms drawn from Gmail's original development team — a tribute to the people who built the platform that held these messages for two decades.
Quotes are rendered in the Gmail default font from their era — Arial for 2004–2017, Roboto from 2018 onward — so each message looks the way it would have when it first arrived in the inbox.
